Open Positions
As we begin to move towards the final stages of the sanctuary renovation and upgrades, we want to make our transition as smooth as possible. Yes, we have opened up the altar/pulpit/choir area and it does look first-rate. Those who have ventured for a sneak peak have expressed plenty of positives about the openness and intimacy the new design will bring. The sounds from the choir will resonate with angelic joy and the lighting will allow you to see without any difficulty. With the changes before us, we are in need to several persons who are willing to be trained and service on our Sound and Lighting Team. We need persons for the 8:00 and 10:30 service as well as the new Contemporary Service. You will be asked to be on a rotation for funerals and weddings. If you hear God calling you to this ministry, please contact the church office. |

Roof Complete
These past few months have been extra busy with workers all around our church. The replacement of the roof has been completed. The upper level parking lot and the upper level restrooms should both be available later this month. The renovation of the sanctuary is progressing, but there have been some setbacks. Although this is not unusual with a construction project, it is going to change our timeframe for returning to the sanctuary/ We will now be returning to the sanctuary near the end of January. Lueder Construction will finish most of the work by early December and then will return in mid-January to complete the lighting after the sanctuary pendants arrive. It will also be necessary to have those individuals who will be trained in the use of the new audio visual and lighting equipment have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the equipment during this time. Your continued support and prayers are appreciated as we all look forward to our return to the renovated sanctuary and are able to celebrate the completion of these projects. |

Ground Breaking Ceremony
On Monday the forms were set and the cement trucks arrived. Again excitement was evident from those who were present. The expanded parking lot is starting to take shape. On Thursday, six trucks full of cement arrived and the second stage was in place. Friday morning the third stages of forms were set and the next set of trucks arrived. The excitement and enthusiasm was apparent from all who have stopped by.
The upper level bathrooms and office is nearing completion. The electricians have been busy putting the final touches on the rough in for the wiring. Bob, the site supervisor and carpenter can be seen working faithfully on the remodeled altar.
We rejoice in the work to uplift and honor God. |

Ground Breaking Ceremony
Ground was broken on Sunday, August 16th for the ROCKbrook United Methodist Church in Omaha, for the Building on the Rock remodel and renovation project. THe remodeling and renovations project is the culmination of several years of discerning and exploring how ROCKbrook could improve on its Mission and Ministry in the greater Omaha area. The remodeling and renovations project includes the expansion of the upper level parking and providing additional handicap parking and outside lighting. The work on the inside includes remodeling the sanctuary, which will comprise the following: new lighting, which will also consist of theater style lights; audio-visual system; and creating space in the altar/choir area so that additional heart-warming and passionate worship experiences can occur. THe upper level restrooms and the senior pastor's office will undergo some changes and the entire roof will be replaced. There are other areas of remodel or repair work also being explored. The congregation will be worshipping in the Fellowship Hall for the next several months. There will be a time of celebration and dedication once all the projects are completed. We would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support in this process. We truly feel God's presence and support as we go through this expansion process. |

Update
On Tuesday evening (6/23) the Trustees and Team Corinthians met to discuss the bids submitted by four local construction companies. After reviewing the bids, the Trustees selected Paragon Construction Company. Paragon is the company that did the work for the elevator. There are several more items to review, including the Audio Visual package and furnishings, which will be submitted separately. We anticipate that construction of the parking lot and interior remodeling will begin the latter part of July and will take approximately 100 days. Therefore, we will begin worshipping in the fellowship hall on July 26th; July 19th will be our final Sunday in the sanctuary for a while. The 8:30am service time will be changed to 8:00am so we will not interfere with movement to Sunday School. The 10:30am service will remain the same. |

Congregation Meeting
The Congregation was advised by the financial committee that we are going to proceed with the parking lot and sanctuary renovations sometime mid-June. Due to budget increases we will postpone the addition of the new entrance area of the church. |

Congregation Meeting/Vote
The Congregation is asked to meet following the 10:30 service April 19th to vote on the revised budget for the renovation project. The revisions are due to more extensive mechanical and electrical work, making the church handicap accessible and other issues. |
