I have been the Lead Pastor of Rockbrook since July of 2005. Since that time Rockbrook has grown spiritually, numerically and is under going a major renovation and remodeling to our facilities.

I graduated from Omaha Central High School, attended Bishop College and Perkins School of Theology both in Dallas Texas. I was ordained an Elder in 1986 in the Northwest Texas Annual Conference. I served churches in Amarillo and Lubbock Texas and First United Methodist In Wood River, NE. I was later appointed to The Clair Memorial UMC where I served from 1991-98. In the spring of 1998, I was appointed District Superintendent of the Nebraska Annual Conference and served the Northwest and Central Districts until 2005.

I am involved in many church and civic programs. Not only have I served in urban and rural churches, I have been an alternate to The General Conference and delegate to Jurisdictional Conferences. I have held a variety of leadership positions in the church and community.

I am married to Dr. Idalene Richmond Williams, who a Professor of Accounting at Metro Community College and is involved in many community activities. We have three adult children, William III, Jamise, and Jenna. We have 2 grandchildren. We enjoy being grandparents, traveling together and attending sporting events.

I am excited to begin my journey as part-time Children’s Ministry Director for ages 3 through 6th grade. Although this is my first formal job in church work, my prior experiences have definitely led me in this direction.

I grew up in the small town of Persia, Iowa going to the United Methodist Church. As I grew in the church, I also helped by playing piano for Sunday School and church and helping with Vacation Bible School. I attended Creighton University where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and began what would be a 14 year career of teaching math at the middle school level. I continued being active in church, first at Faith Westwood in Omaha, then Southminster in Lincoln, and now Rockbrook. Each church found me in similar roles of helping with music and education.

I am married to Ed Vidlak and have a son, Jonathan, and daughter, Anna. After a 9 year break from the working world, I am back part-time and glad to help in the ever important goal of providing a meaningful church experience for the children of Rockbrook and beyond.

Paul is a native of Iowa and received a degree in Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa. He has taught on all levels in both Iowa and Nebraska. Paul is a Music instructor for OPS and has been the Chancel Choir director at Rockbrook since 1989. In addition, Paul has sung with the Clarion Chamber Chorale and Soli Deo Gloria Cantorum. Currently, he sings with Omaha Chamber Singers. Paul adjudicates for high school music contests with the Iowa High School Music Association and occasionally in Nebraska. He has been involved with church music since he was a child and enjoys his work at Rockbrook very much.
